Beet Juice is one of my boyfriend’s favourite go-to juices and although he just juices a few beets for a quick juice, this is his #1 Beet Juice Recipe! Beets have numerous health benefits, including improved blood flow, lower blood pressure, and increased exercise performance. Whether consumed raw or cooked, Beets (also known as beetroot) are delicious and perfect for a healthy juice or smoothie.
Beets are known to pack a very earthy and sweet flavour, and it’s most likely that you’re either gonna love them or hate them. For me personally, juiced beets taste a bit too earthy, so we will be adding other ingredients to balance out the flavours. Are you ready to try out Your #1 Beet Juice Recipe?!
What you'll need:
In this Beet Juice recipe we’re only going to be using a total of six simple ingredients.
The ingredients needed for this recipe are Beetroot, ginger, lemon, parsley, apple, and cucumber. These fruits and veggies are full of nutrition.
Fresh ginger adds a nice spicy element to the juice. Ginger is one of my favourite spices for both juices and cooking! I just love its scent. Plus, it has anti-inflammatory benefits.
The apple (red or green) will add a sweet note to the beetroot juice whilst helping to mask the “earthy” flavour.
Cucumbers are made up of around 96% water, making them one of the best ingredients for juices. You can use whatever type of cucumber you have at home. The cucumber will help dilute the strong beet flavour as well.
Lemons (lime is fine as well) help by adding a bright citrusy flavour to the juice. They will also add vitamin C which helps the immune system. It’s best to peel your lemon before adding it to the juicer.
Parsley is a great ingredient to include. It is a great source of antioxidants.
Recipe Steps:
Start by washing all ingredients, making sure they’re clean from any dirt and soil. Cut off the ends of the beets, and then proceed to chopping them into pieces that will fit through the feeding tube of your juicer.
I personally leave bits of the lemon skin on and I don’t peel the ginger at all. If you don’t think your juicer can handle the lemon skin, then it may be best to peel it off.
Next, slowly juice all the ingredients together and bam! All done! ✨ If you’re using a high-speed blender to make juice, you will need to strain the pulp out (see the notes below for full blender instructions).
Sip and enjoy!
Now you have a gorgeous red beet juice ready to be served. Keep in mind that most fresh juices should be consumed straight away, if possible. You can also store homemade juices in a tightly sealed container for up to 2 days.
Raw cold-pressed juices can be kept in the freezer and stored for 6 months without degrading the flavour or nutrition. It’s best to thaw frozen juices in the refrigerator and consume immediately.
