BEYONCÉ Live At The RWT Cover

I Watched Beyoncé Live at The Renaissance World Tour!

Trending Today Suicide Prevention Day Embracing Chaos and Finding Balance: New Release by Jas Rolyn How To Cope With Imposter Syndrome Cucumber Celery Green Juice Recipe Beyoncé finished the European leg of her highly anticipated Renaissance World Tour and has now kicked off the US leg. I’m so psyched over the fact that after over a decade of following her music and career, I finally got to live out my dream. I watched Beyoncé Live at the Renaissance World Tour in Amsterdam, and it was beyond exceptional. Silver Superstar: Preparing For The Tour & My Outfit This has been possibly my number one dream, and truth be told, I was unsure whether I was gonna actually get to ever see Beyoncé live. Once the Renaissance World Tour was announced, I knew I had to buy the tickets and make it happen no matter what. I’ve been following Beyoncé since I was around 10 years old (I’m now 24!) and to not see her now on this tour was not a choice I was gonna live with. So obviously, as you can imagine, I wanted this experience to be perfect. I wanted to look good and feel good about myself. I was not gonna give anxiety a chance to overshadow my experience. Y’all know, the Beyhive knows how to dress, and baby so I did! I wore a metallic silver crop top with a cut-out on the shoulder, metallic silver shorts, my black heeled ankle boots, lots of bling bling and a massive metallic silver glasses. I felt like a superstar walking into the arena, a space filled with people who loved and psyched over Bey as much as I did. It felt correct! Arriving At The Stadium 🪩 View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jas Rolyn (@jasrolynofficial) As we got all dressed up and ready for an unforgettable night, we took the metro and made our way to Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam. It was so fun seeing other fans dressed up in silver. You could instantly spot who was going to the show, and it gave me such good feelings. We got off the metro and before queuing to enter the stadium, we first made a stop to buy the merch. I was really really hoping to get a hand fan, but sadly, they were all out. That said, I got myself a cute tee which I’ll very likely frame. 🤣 Still keeping my fingers crossed for those fans to be available online at some point though! 😅 Anyway, we made out way to our entrance and got our Circle B wrist bands. Once you get in, there are a few food and drinks options—we got ourselves a portion of fries and drinks since it was still a bit early, after that, we proceeded to enter the stadium and eagerly awaited for the queen. Let me tell you, the anxiety was real! I kept telling myself “remain composed”, “have fun”, “don’t film every second and enjoy the show”, and quiiitteee a lot of other things whilst waiting 🤣 As you can imagine, after over a decade of waiting, I was actually in front of the very stage where Beyoncé was gonna come out and perform on within a matter of an hour. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jas Rolyn (@jasrolynofficial) Let’s say I wasn’t worried of fainting from the overwhelming experience… but the thought did run through my crazy head! I saw it happen on Youtube, and this was my dream since forever… 🤭 Dangerously in Love: The Beginning View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jas Rolyn (@jasrolynofficial) Stunning visuals of the sky covered the massive screens on stage—this was the moment…. The show has begun. Everything lead to this moment. The piano keys started playing the beautiful notes of Dangerously in Love. I was mesmerised—lost in the moment and  eagerly awaiting for Bey to appear on stage. Suddenly, her voice fills up the stadium, “Amsterdam…. I love you” she says whilst she’s elevated from underneath the stage wearing a gorgeous red dress. I could not hold my tears… As she sang Dangerously in Love, everything just felt so surreal… so perfect… and so magical. I cried, and I cried hard… The indescribable emotions I was feeling were definitely overwhelming… A life-long dream was unfolding before my very eyes… I still get goosebumps and watery eyes whenever I remember how deep this moment was for me. She kicked off the show performing slow hits like Dangerously in Love, 1+1, I Care amongst others—as well as a rendition of River Deep Mountain High as a tribute to the great Tina Turner. Bey’s vibrant and resonant voice left the whole stadium in awe.  As Queen B changed into new attire, out-of-this-world visuals filled the screens. Now of course, I’ve already seen all this on the hundreds of videos on my instagram feed, but to witness the visuals in person… speechless. The cinematography work was exceptional—even writing about it now, I still feel unable to put into words what I saw with my eyes. The amount of detail and artistry put into every scene of the clips is extraordinary to say the least. As a matter of fact, I do believe that these visuals will be released in some sort of a film format. They’re just too good to simply be backdrops for the tour. The show then continued with Beyoncé commending the stage with performances of songs from her latest show-stopping album Renaissance, starting off the main act with I’m That Girl, Cozy & Alien Superstar. Amidst all the breathtaking performances, I think two of the hottest moments were I’m That Girl and later on when she came out in her hot pink Ivy Park outfit and performed Cuff It, Energy & Break My Soul. This happened to be the very first time she wore this outfit and I’d say that it’s one of my very favourites. That

Hold Me Close Behind The Lyrics

Hold Me Close: Behind The Lyrics

On November 18th 2022, I released my new single Hold Me Close. This song’s lyrics speak about both love for someone and love for one’s self. These were two things that I frequently reflected on. I think to genuinely love yourself and be loved by someone else is pretty much the true goal for most people. Keep reading if you would like to know exactly what’s behind the lyrics. “It’s written in the starslike a fairytalelike a story carved in stone It’s written on your facewhy you’re so afraidwhat is holding you back” Some people believe that everything that happens is written. That our future is already determined and that we live to become whatever is written for us to be. I’m not saying that I blindly agree with this, but sometimes it does feel like it. You know? Before I started singing and writing, I first had a dream… A dream to become someone. A dream to travel the world and take my music around the globe. I dreamed of bringing a change to people’s lives through my music. I know how this sounds. You might say I’m way ahead of myself and it’s too far fetched, well, that’s what my anxious thoughts tell me too. However, I’ve slowly learnt that I have to acknowledge and move past those thoughts. We can be stubborn for many things in life. Your dreams deserve a fight and they’re worth being stubborn for. I am now certain of myself and I know what I bring to the table. I found my belief, my sound… I found myself. My music makes me whole and when I think of my journey so far, I do feel as if it was written in the stars, like a prophecy carved on the stones of a cave showing what’s meant to be. It’s very much the same with love. We fall in love and sometimes it’s scary. We don’t always know what we’re doing or if it’s meant to be, but sometimes, somehow… We feel certain. The connection feels so strong that you feel that everything that had happened – all the heartache and the past relationships led to this moment with this significant other. “It’s not that I’m afraid to lovebut of getting too attachedWhat if you fall for someone elseWill i fade into your past” Like everything in life, love can have its ups and downs. You may feel on top of the world and deeply in love, then later at night, when you’re alone in bed… You start to think and dwell about things that might or might not occur. You start to fill your head with negative thoughts and insecurities that you drag along for days to come. This is a topic that many of us are not vocal about. It’s difficult to even say this to a friend sometimes. I would know, these thoughts rushed through my head many times. “What if he falls in love with someone else? or what if someone from the past resurfaces and things change?” I used to think… Trust that you’re not alone in this. We all have our doubts and insecurities, what’s important is that we don’t let those insecurities affect our judgement and poison our joy. “Hold me closeand say you’ll never leavesay you’ll never leaveme alone Hold me closeI’m not your enemysay you’ll never leaveme alone” From where do I start… This chorus may be simple, but it holds a powerful meaning. When you love someone, all you wish sometimes (or most times 😅) is for that person to hold you close and to reassure you of their undoubted love. You’d want them to tell you that they’re here for good through thick and thin, come what may. This might be me just being clingy, but so what! In this chorus, there is also my favourite line “hold me close, I’m not your enemy”. This line is not about the love for someone else, but the love for one’s self (self love). There were times when I felt like I was not enough. No matter what I did, no matter what achievements or goals I achieved, at time I felt like I still did not do enough. As soon as I reached a milestone, it was not for long until I start to belittle the success and guilt myself for not doing better. I then began to go in front of the mirror and I’d remind myself of everything I had accomplished. I practiced being kinder to myself. I was treating myself as if I was the enemy when I wasn’t. I wouldn’t put the expectations I had of myself on a friend or someone I loved, so why was I doing it to myself? I told myself that what I did not accomplish today, I can accomplish tomorrow. Rome was not built in a day and I could not expect to achieve everything overnight. Patience is a virtue. “I know time will comeand it will have its waywill it ever be the same you make it seem so easyto dream againbut is it just a phase” Change is scary, and with time, everyone and everything changes. We’re continuously growing and developing day after day. What we were into a year or two ago, i might be that we’re no longer into now. These verses reflect on how time will have its way. You don’t really know what will happen tomorrow, in a week or in a few months’ time. Some things are not in our hands to control. Time is a story-teller, and only time can unveil the the future. When you’re with someone who makes you truly happy, you may find yourself hoping for things not to ever change, even though without change we cannot grow.  “through it allcome hell or high waterI give myself to youin all I do” The bridge is very short and simple. It speaks about giving yourself, your love, your time, no matter what troubles

Rolyns Pick Emotional Drive with Websites

Rolyn’s Picks: Emotional Drive

Hey y’all! 🙌🏽 Some time ago I created a playlist on Spotify containing all my top picks. I’ve been playing these tracks on the daily and each song on the list captivates me still! The playlist is quite easy-going and chill. This is what I usually listen to whilst cooking or when I’m doing chores around the house. Below, I’ve included some thoughts about the top songs in the playlist. Take a listen and don’t forget to save the playlist if you fancy! 👀🎶 I first heard Oceans on Instagram whilst scrolling through reels that came up on my feed. This is one of those songs that you hear 5 seconds of and you’re gasping at how beautiful it sounds. Hold Me Close is my latest release and both the melody and its touching lyrics will move you. It fits perfectly within this playlist and so I believe it deserves to have a spot. It’s lyrics are a statement made not just to a loved one, but also to one’s self. “Hold me close, I’m not your enemy” is possibly one of my favourite lines. For me personally, this holds such a strong meaning… A blog post will soon be in the making where I will reveal what’s behind the lyrics of this track. “So will you wait for me, my evergreen?” This song is an awesome track to listen to. From the background harmonies to the lyrics and the refreshing beat, Evergreen is one of my top picks on this playlist. I’ve hear Glimpse of Us by Joji during my grocery shopping with my boyfriend. This song as a whole is very captivating and as soon as I heard it play, I immediately got out my phone and shazamed it! This is something different than what we usually hear on mainstream radio and I’m very glad that I encountered this release. Minke is an artist I’ve never heard of until not long ago. I came across Elsewhere on Spotify some time ago whilst listening to random music and I just cannot stop listening to it! This song takes me back to the 90’s-2000s and if you’re a fan of TLC and Destiny’s Child like me, you’re gonna be dancing to this! FLO is bringing us something we’ve been missing so badly, and I’m here for it. Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Pinterest Youtube

Worthless | New Release

Hey everyone! I would like to start by thanking everyone for the continous support! ROLYN’S FIRST SOLO RELEASE ✨ Although I have recently released Bittersweet and Side Boy, Worthless is my very first solo release since I started performing under the new name Jas Rolyn. For Worthless, I had the opportunity to work with Shamus Musik – an incredibly talented producer from Canada. I am incredibly thankful that we crossed paths and got to work together.Writing the song I initially started writing Worthless at a point when I was feeling frustrated with the world. I was going through something personal which left me feeling quite hopeless. Writing this was my way of processing the situation I was in.After I finished writing the song, I sent a demo of the song to Shamus Musik, a producer who I got to know online through facebook groups. As soon as I sent him the song, he immediately liked it and started working on the production. He gave it this completely new modern sound that complimented my composition so nicely — my heart dropped the first time I heard it. The emotional lyrics reflect how we sometimes feel worthless and as if nothing is important anymore. It also reflects on the everyday life as well as the mood swings that many have experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic. The restrictions may sometimes make you feel claustrophobic, and the ever-changing situation makes everything feel uncertain.Putting the pandemic situation aside, Worthless also speaks about how it is during the storm that we realise who the true friends truly are. Not everyone who is there for you through the hard times wants you to get through it and move on and be better. Some people just get off other people’s pain. For the music video, I wanted to create something artistic and different from what I did in the past. The video features four different scenes, and every scene expresses a different story. Previous Next One of the scenes was shot in a park. I wanted this scene to portray a sense of delicateness and vulnerability. The other three scenes were all shot in the same location, however, the apparel was different in all.A scene featured an all white outfit to represent and reflect the good and light, whilst in the other scene I wore an all black outfit to represent the darkness and struggles. Lastly, the remaining scene featured a bright blue blazer and an edgy makeup look which to me represented strength, rebelliousness and determination.A special thank you goes to my good friend Nathan Falzon, who assisted me with the filming of the music video. Streaming and Sharing = Support To all my friends, followers and anyone who might be reading this, if you like my music and would like to support me, all you have to do is stream and share my work. I thank you all yet again for taking the time to read this post, and I truly hope that you love this release as much as I do! ❤️ Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Pinterest Youtube

Bittersweet | Music Release

Bittersweet || The Start of A New Era Hey y’all! It’s been one hell of a ride and I want to start by thanking you all for supporting my new release, Bittersweet. ROLYN’S FIRST RELEASE ✨ Bittersweet is the first release since I started performing under the new name Jas Rolyn. The track is part of a new EP which I am currently working on and will be released in the coming months. The song talks about heartache, losing trust, as well as losing yourself in a relationship. For this track I teamed up with TRAPBOI VIII, a young and very talented rapper from Jos, Nigeria.Working together was not easy due to the distance, but it surely was a blast! Being in the middle of a pandemic stirred up a lot of emotions. COVID-19 pandemic put everything on hold and trying to film a music video with the restrictions that were in place was not easy. It was quite frustrating, but at the end of the day, safeguarding everyone’s health is what was the most important. Previous Next Step by Step, Piece by Piece…Step by step and piece by piece, the video was coming together. I went around the island looking for the right spots to shoot the music video. The main parts of the video were filmed in Dingli, Marsa & Mellieħa (Malta), whilst some other parts were filmed in Nigeria, the rapper’s home country. The Start of A New Era 🌏🎶As I grow older and experience life in its glorious beauty and horror, I find myself changing every day. No matter how much time passes, my love and passion for music and the work I do will never diminish, only evolve. I look forward to exploring new genres, sounds, and most of all to learn and grow in this industry. NEW RELEASE Racy Music Video For OXYGEN

NEW RELEASE: Racy Music Video For OXYGEN

NEW RELEASE: Racy Music Video For OXYGEN On October 16th, I released the official video for OXYGEN. For this particular song, I tried to take it a step further. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and show a different side of myself. OXYGEN is a sensational pop track which is very easy on the ear. The video was shot in 3 different locations. Two of them being set outside, while the other scene was shot in a bathtub. SCENE 1: The first scene was shot at Għajn Tuffieħa Bay. This happens to be one of my favourite places in Malta as well! I woke up around 4am, and I went to pick up my friend Rebecca Żammit who was helping me with shooting this video. We made our way to Għajn Tuffieħa, and as soon as we arrived, I had to set up everything. It took us just a couple of minutes till everything was up and ready for filming, but we had to wait until there was a bit more natural light as the sky was still pitch black. Watching the sunrise from Għajn Tuffieħa always makes me so happy. It’s truly magical. You can watch Behind The Scenes: OXYGEN (Part 1) below to see how the first filming went. SCENE 2: The second scene was shot in Rebecca’s very own bathtub! After a long, long, long, VERY LONG day at work, I headed over to Rebecca’s house. We filled the tub with water and milk — the smell was petrifying! Anyways, since this was filmed indoors, filming this part wasn’t that difficult. Take a look at what happened… SCENE 3: The third scene was so much fun to shoot! I was wearing this fabulous leather body-hugging bodysuit, and a black ankle boots. I just felt so incredibly sexy! I’m not gonna spoil much from behind the scenes, so if you wanna know what happened, you gotta stay tuned! Thank you for following my musical journey, and I hope you liked this post. Much Love, Jasmar Cassar xoxoxo

STRONG Hits 20k Views in One Week e1681055479493

WATCH: ‘STRONG’ HITS 20K VIEWS! Hey GlamQueens! First of all I want to start this post by thanking you all for supporting my debut album Journey To Freedom and my latest video for Strong. I still can’t believe that my video hit 20K views in just one week, and I am so grateful! As a thank you, I created a coupon which will get you my debut album Journey To Freedom completely free! Scroll down to the bottom for the code. Strong is a very special song for me. I was at a point where I didn’t really have any direction in life and I felt as if I lost myself. I was at the verge of giving up on my musical career, and then I wrote this song… I still remember walking into my work office, I was emotionally wrecked. I played my colleague the new song, and as soon as she heard it, her face lit up like never before. She loved it so much that all the pain and confusion I felt suddenly turned into hope and determination. Knowing that my best friend believed in me and my music was a huge turn-around for me. Thanks to Strong and the support of my best friend, I reached my goal and released my debut album Journey To Freedom. Because of this very reason, I wanted to shoot a very special video for this song. I went from my mama’s bedroom all the way to Paris Long-story-short, I booked my ticket to Paris, and my best friend Rebecca Mackay came all the way from Germany to help me shoot the video! (Check out her fabulous blog here!) We had a crazy but fantastic time in Paris! We visited the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre Museum and we got McDonalds delivered straight to our door thanks to Uber Eats. I was very excited about that as it was my very first time using their app since it’s not available in my country. Anyway, due to bad weather we didn’t manage to film everything in Paris. I decided to film the second scene of the video in a jungle-like atmosphere, the only problem is that we don’t have anything of that sort in Malta… So  I  just  turned  my  mum’s  bedroom  into  a  mini-jungle  and  it  was  so  much  fun! For the third scene I went to Pembroke (Malta) with a friend of mine, and we filmed the remaining parts during the golden hour. Strong is not just about losing yourself. Strong is an anthem for all the survivors who face abuse because of who they are or who they love. Even when the whole universe is punching you in the face, you still find the strength to face your demons and follow your own path. As a Thank You for all the support you’ve given me, I’m giving you all a free digital copy of my debut album! All you have to do is use the code STRONG-GIFT when checking out, and you’ll be able to download the album completely free! Click here to get your copy now! Much love, Jasmar Cassar
